Y.F.’s Story

I am a disabled person who is raising my great niece. She is a special needs girl. I struggle each year to pay her tuition at the private school she attends. When she was in the public school, she was promoted even though she should have been retained. It was only when I placed her in a smaller environment that I was able to get her the personal attention needed that she started to enjoy learning. This grant will enable her to continue to excel in learning and I will not have to decide between tuition and feeding her. This grant will give me time to help cultivate her in addition to what she is getting in school. She will not be successful with distant or Zoom learning. She needs to be in the classroom setting. Thank you for fighting for not only the students’ education but the parents’ choice.
