My two kiddos have called their school home for 8 years! Each year has been a financial sacrifice that has felt worth every penny spent. However this year the sacrifice has about reached the point of unbearable. I work as a speech language pathologist who contracts with the states babynet/first steps program. I serve the birth to age 3 population in their homes or daycares. As a result of COVID-19 my income has been and will most likely continue to be negatively impacted. The stressed caused by this did not outweigh the stress created by the idea of having to move my kids from the only school home they have ever known during the midst of so much uncertainty. When I first heard the information about the SAFE Grant I labeled it a God wink, so I pray the Governor is able to move forward with this grant.
