I have 4 kids. I have always homeschooled them up until 2 years ago. We put our oldest 2 boys in a private school. We have always paid taxes like everyone else and we have never benefited from school tax. Tuition is not cheap but we feel its worth it considering the state of SC public school options in our area. The year I decided to homeschool, Chesterfield County tested the lowest in the state and SC was lowest in the country that year. I wanted better for my kids. The SAFE Grant would give us a year to save so that maybe all 4 of our kids could go to that school next year. The cost for 4 kids to go would be almost $18,000. I have been a stay at home mom for 16 years. We are a one income family. If we were picked for the SAFE Grant, it would be greatly appreciated.
