#MySAFEGrantStory - The Espinoza Family

"When my son was two years old, we discovered he had a huge brain cyst and since then our family has been through a lot of challenges."

Easley, South Carolina

“We have twins that are five years old and unfortunately when my son was two years old, we discovered he had a huge brain cyst and since then our family has been through a lot of challenges. The school journey for him has not been easy because he associated schools with hospitals because everything he had to go through medically. God has blessed us, and we have been able to send our daughter to a catholic private school and it has been wonderful! It has truly been a great blessing for our family.  She has grown so much educationally and spiritually which for us as parents is very important for our kids to be in a loving, nurturing environment which helps them throughout their lives.

With COVID, we have to do virtual classes instead of in person because of their medical issues but it gives me hope that when everything gets better with COVID, we have schools that are giving families other educational options that are more suitable for each individual family. I would love to see more private schools offering special education for kids with special needs as well. Private schools offer a lot of benefits and are more willing to help families overcome certain situations.

The love and level of education offered at private schools is very important for children and it gives parents peace of mind about their kids’ education and wellbeing.”
