My daughter attends a small private school. We made that choice, but it is not without sacrifice and it is not for the reasons that people think. My husband and I made the choice to sacrifice paying off our debt and buying a home so that our daughter could attend private school. We made this decision not because we think we are better than anyone or because we are “rich.” We made the decision because our public schools are already over crowded and there doesn’t seem to be a slow down in the population. Elementary school kids have been caught taking guns into public schools and class sizes are too big. This pandemic has not discriminated against public and private schools young/old white/black/purple. I should not have to take my child away from the only school she’s ever known because of something out of my control.
