I am writing in support of SAFE Grants for private schools. As a single and working mother I desired a smaller academic environment for my young son that also held up Christian principles. In addition being a career mom I needed an immediate aftercare program that would not require me to leave my job to do a daily pick-up/drop-off only to return to work for a short time and pick-up once again. I found these wonderful characteristics among many other positives at our private school. My son has attended from K5 – 10th grade thus far. It has not at all been easy for me with my salary but it has been worth it to see my son grow and develop. SAFE Grants would deliver some relief for my tight budget, and I appreciate your concern for those of us in similar circumstances.
