M.C.’s Story

I am a foster-care parent and have 2 little boys that need to start school. My grandson has been living with me since he was fourteen months old and his half-brother since he was 3 days old. They are now four and a half and two and four months. I am faced with educating children that were exposed to drugs during their gestation and developmental years and this creates specific educational needs including but not limited to: Occupational Therapy Speech Therapy, One-on-one attention from a therapist, smaller class sizes, and psychological therapy. Having the SAFE Grant would allow my foster children to receive the educational and development needs that they have from a private school that would pinpoint and focus specifically on the needs of the boys.
