M.C.’s Story

As a military family, we had to make the impossible decision to put serves before self and place my son’s education second to the mission. With a six-month deployment looming near and the idea of him not being able to attend first grade, I had to make the decision to move him to a private school that I could not afford. The school graciously awarded my son financial aid but it only covered a small fraction of his tuition. Virtual learning is not an option for my family due to my previous promise I made to my country. As heartbreaking as it is I was mentally prepared to miss my son’s first day of grade school. I cannot allow the school district to take away my son’s first day of grade school and the opportunity to be educated by a legitimate teacher in the proper learning enviorment.
