#MySAFEGrantStory - L.H.’s Story

Georgetown, South Carolina

I am a private school psychologist. I have worked through tele-health and now back in the office for in-person visits throughout the pandemic. It was extremely challenging trying to provide therapy to children and families during this time and be responsible for my own two childrens educational needs. The mental health needs in our community and state right now are alarming. Kids and adolescents need structure social interaction physical activity and less time on electronics. While i am trying to help families through this time, I don’t want my own two children to fall through the cracks. My husband also has to work and we do not have family in the town we live in. Its been extremely challenging and my kids desperately want to be back in brick and mortar school buildings which is currently not an option in our district.
