I work for a non-profit in the Upstate. We serve kids and adults on the autism spectrum. Amongst the lifespan of services we provide, we have a SCISA accredited school program where students on the autism spectrum can receive therapy as well as academic instruction. It’s a big strain for families to afford autism therapy and private school tuition their children desperately need. We know that SAFE Grants will benefit many of our families working hard to provide the necessary services for their children on the spectrum. Many of these students would not thrive in public school environments and have come to us as a last resort. Your tireless efforts are making a difference in the lives of SC citizens already challenged by an autism diagnosis. (1 in 54 kids) Thank you Governor McMaster for standing up for South Carolina students and students with autism!
