It would mean everything to my family to have help with tuition. I am a single mom in a rural area. The public schools in our area are unsafe for my children to attend. Our only safe option is to send them to a private school. I get upset when I struggle everyday to make ends meet, only to see all of the benefits that the public school students get. I’ve just heard that they are now getting an additional $330 per month just for food. Along with being provided lunches everyday by the bus route. I just wish that the people who are against this realize how many working families struggle to provide a good safe education for our children, while still paying taxes for a school system that we arent able to use. The SAFE Grants are only a small fraction of the amount of additional funding that the public school systems are receiving.
