As a single parent of 2 children who also works as a full time front-liner this grant would mean everything to my childrens overall wellbeing. Back in June, I became very sick after being exposed to a sick patient who was later diagnosed with COVID-19; this impacted our already tight household income. Despite the financial burden, I am willing to make sacrifices in the name of providing my children some sense of normalcy amidst this world filled with uncertainties and irregularities. That normalcy is having the ability to go back to school where they developed meaningful friendships. I will forever be indebted knowing that while I’m taking care of the health of my patients with varying diagnoses that include COVID-19, our Governor took care of me and my childrens financial, emotional, social, mental, and educational well-being.
