My son has been attending a private school in West Columbia since K-4 and is supposed to be starting 2nd grade in less than two weeks. However, our family has been financially impacted by COVID-19 with my husband being furloughed and relying on one income for the past five months. Tuition seems like a far reach but we are doing everything we can to keep our son at the only school he has known. Hearing about the SAFE Grant program seemed like a blessing and we finally felt there may be hope after all; now to only be left with, “What do we do, we have less than two weeks before school?” Our son’s education and wellbeing is our top priority and we pray that the courts will see that the SAFE Grant isn’t being used for “privileged children” but for normal hard working families that only want the best for their children. “
