There is a huge misconception about who would benefit from this program. The general public chooses to believe that private school children live in gated communities and come from wealthy, influential families. My family proves that notion is 100% false. We have sacrificed and have gone without to keep our children in private school. Our school that continues to help my children does not receive any funding, and as a parent, we receive no help. A portion of the property taxes that we pay every year goes towards a school district that my children do not attend. We do not receive tax credits for the tuition we pay. Private school parents have been affected by the pandemic the same way public school parents have been. To discriminate against these children is absurd.
