A SAFE Grant would mean that my ten year-old son who has ADHD and needs structure would attend a school with the structure necessary for him to succeed. It means that I would be able to go to work without having to worry about where my son’s education would come from. My son is ten and cannot be simply left to his own devices for education. I cannot drag him to work with me everyday. For his mental health and wellbein,g he needs to be in school amongst peers his age. He has already been away from this far too long. I am a single mother and schooling is necessary for my child who also needs exposure to socialization. It would mean less anxiety for me wondering what I am going to do when school starts and they expect him to do school online.
