My son was just diagnosed with dyslexia at a cost of $2,400.00 to me because the school did not have a testing program. Our public district is not set up to provide him the help he needs to learn to read. The only choices we have are 2 private schools at a minimum cost of $24k a year or a 1hr 20 drive to a charter school. The extra cost of fuel and lost wages will be very hard on us. However his education should not suffer because public schools are not equipped to teach him.
