A.B.’s Story

My daughter attended Public school through 6th grade. She spent most of 6th grade taking kids to the counselor to deal with problems ranging from abuse to bullying. She was mentally and emotionally exhausted. She asked for a break from Public schools and did a virtual charter school system. She was at the top of her class, but she missed being around other kids her age. I saved for a year to be able to pay the enrollment fee at a private school that she has friends at because she would get severe anxiety at the thought of going back to public school. The SAFE Grant would help me as a single mother of two to help offset the cost of her education, so she can feel safe and continue to be an amazing student, while also taking a huge weight off my shoulders as her mother to ensure her safety and a quality education.
