As a Mom of a large family I’ve come to realize everyone can’t fit within the restraints of a traditional school. We had to search for private options, ones that catered to my child’s needs. Some children just need to be taught in a way that captures their creativity and teaches to their strengths. The announcement of SAFE Grants for us was huge. Childrens’ needs are different and schools that specialize in those needs are such a support for families. The SAFE Grant announcement was a sigh of relief, a glimmer of hope. I am grateful that someone sees the need and is standing with us.We all can’t fit in the same mold we all are different. COVID has been tough on everyone especially our kids. Every situation is different. At the end of the day we as a people of South Carolina need to support every child and provide the best education tailored to their needs.
