A.A.’s Story

Our son has a long list of special needs that require lots of extra, skilled support for him to succeed in the classroom. He (and our other two children) attend a private school because the available help in our zoned public school is not sufficient. We’ve seen the school woefully fail a child with the same age and diagnoses as our son leaving that child floundering in the classroom and unprepared for the next school year. Our son is THRIVING at his private school and we are grateful. However, this comes at a steep cost to our family. Sending our children to a private school requires 20% of our income. My husband works in the construction industry and because of industry setbacks related to Covid, he has experienced decreased sales and a pay cut to his base salary. This grant would be a huge blessing to our family.
