M.A.’s Story

I have two middle schoolers in RCSD 1. At the end of last year, we had every type of difficulty imaginable with navigating through the obstacles of unworking software, lost assignments that had been submitted in a timely manner, etc. I had to step in and take the place of 11 school teachers and school staff who would normally be clamoring that my children need them in order to get a proper education. Now it seems that they don’t want the children to come back. If last year was any indication of the level of attention and assistance that my children can expect this year, then an alternative where teachers and staff are available in person would be a Godsend. We will use the SAFE Grant to send my children to class with other students and let them have the constant availability and feedback of teachers who are present and involved in their daily education.
